ABSTRACT
Reading plays a crucial role in the development of any individual. The literate can revert tornan illiterate if constant reading is not done. This study seeks to examine the reading habits ofrnsecondary school teachers in Nasarawa State. A structured questionnaire was used to collectrndata for the study. 150 copies of a questionnaire were sent out to Government day secondaryrnNasarawa Government junior secondary school Nasarawa Kings science secondary schoolrnLoko Government secondary school Mararaba Government secondary school Ugya andrnGovernment secondary school Toto. Data collected were analyzed using simple percentages.rnThe result shows that majority of the teachers read for preparing lesson notes. It wasrnrecommended that school and public libraries should provide current and relevant textbooksrnto simulate reading. It was also recommended that the National Library annual readingrncampaign should be strengthened to encourage teachers and students to improve theirrnreading habits.
