AbstractrnThis study is on the Assessment of Service Quality using adapted Libqual model in Lagos StaternPolytechnic Library in South-Western Nigeria. The study was based on the perceived low levelrnof usage of the libraries by the students. The specific objectives of the study were: To identifyrnthe types of information resources services and facilities that are available determine thernperception and expectations of the users as well as the gap scores among others. LibQualrnModel was adapted for the study.A self-developed questionnaire was the instrument used torncollect data and the Cronbachs alpha coefficient of all the variables of this study was betweenrn0.711 to 0.850. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Findings of the study revealedrngap scores for example the students expect the library to be dependable in handling usersrnservice problems 0.07 the library staff instill confidence in users -0.39 provision ofrnadequate current and relevant information resources in different formats 0.07 the library arncomforting and inviting place including lighting 0.11 with enough reading tables and seatsrn0.29. Hence there is adequacy gap in the library studied. The study concluded that the qualityrnof information resources services facilities and conduct of library staff contributed to servicernquality in Lagos State polytechnic library. The study therefore recommends among othersrnthe provision of internet facilities with high bandwidth training and retraining of library staffrnshould be given adequate attention.
