ABSTRACT
Smartphones have become companions of most undergraduates in Nigeria. A study of the use of these smartphones in their academic pursuit most especially in accessing library resources is imperative. This study adopted a survey research design using a questionnaire to gather information from undergraduates of Lagos State University. The total number of respondents was 251 across various faculties from a sample size of 540. Results of the study showed that undergraduates of Lagos State University use their smartphones to access e-books, e-journals, e-magazine and newspapers. The study found out that the type of phone, memory and storage capacities are determinants for use of a smartphone to access library resources. This study concludes that undergraduates use their smartphones to access some library academic resources like e-books because smartphone usage for daily activities has become an inevitable part of their lives.
